Veronica K. Chilton is a visionary behind The Shield Maidens Social Movement. She has carved out a niche as an authority on guiding Shield Maidens toward personal fulfillment by teaching them
how to overcome adversity by becoming assertive, developing self-esteem, and having the courage to speak up. Her expertise has benefited hundreds, helping them transform their lives. She is igniting a movement to support adult survivors of childhood abuse, incest and neglect in the family home,
which may include domestic violence.
As Ambassador and Champion of Truth to shepherd all Shield Maidens, Veronica is an example of a
leader who embodies a battle-earned maturity. Beyond that, we women are all riding on the coattails
of historical women who stood for other women in past decades. We must honor those who have gone before us.
By example in her soon to be published books, she weaves a rich tapestry of awareness from
challenging circumstances by bridging the gap between the esoteric and practical hands-on application.
She assists Shield Maidens in overcoming challenges, solving what may appear to be the unsolvable. Success comes from just "sticking with it," seeing things through to completion rather than giving up
because things seem hard. You can simultaneously gain the potential to succeed and build up your resolve even though stiff upper lip playwright, Samuel Becket blatantly said, "You're on earth. There's no cure for that." However, psychologist Victor Frankl wrote, " . . .when we are no longer able to
change a situation - we are challenged to change ourselves."
Let's work together on a groundswell of support - reclaim the divine feminine as evidenced in
Veronica's sometimes tragic; sometimes storied books soon to be published, and believe in a common
purpose and our journey ahead. See the treasure in your hearts and the desire to crash through societal
myths. During childhood, the vast majority of girls are never asked about their hopes and dreams.
Together, we can combine realism with strength of purpose and positive thinking. There is certainly security and strength in numbers.
The original Shield Maidens, the female Viking warriors had equal footing as the men, farming together with equal say. They literally fought on the battefields with them. To be clear, we Shield Maidens want the equal part, but are not channeling the heroine character in the movies of Kill Bill. Our healthier evolved egos are balanced in character and respect. We have a deep aversion to feeling
powerless and have the ability to shape our own destinies given the unpredictable nature of life.
The pen and our voices are mightier than the sword. Shield Maidens worldwide may channel
their inner warrior women through assertive communication, where both parties win. Whether setting boundaries, airing grievances or advocating for this movement, Shield Maidens' focus aligns with
the core of its message: Womens Lives Matter.
Janelle Monae, recording artist and actress said of the MeToo movement, "We come in peace, but
we mean business." Her words apply here as well. We have the power to undue the culture that does not serve us well. President Jimmy Carter said that television needs to stop passing off violence against women as a plot twist. He also wrote, "The most serious and unaddressed worldwide challenge is the deprivation and abuse of women and girls."
Although it may be time to drop a few truth bombs diplomatically to family members, friends, co-
workers and organizations, it is a time of rebirth. Developing power within supersedes power over another contrary to popular belief. We can let purifying fires burn away what is no longer needed.
We are entitled to fight for what we believe in.
One of Veronica's secret weapons that reliably disables detractors is her determination. She outlasts others and demonstrates what endurance really means. As a hard-working pragmatist, she finds
answers even after others have given up and gone home. She is also smart enough to take well-deserved breaks and rejuvenate herself in self-care. Shield Maidens can refine your plans by
allowing well-meaning others educated in all matters of abuse show you where the holes in your perception may be to lessen your pain.
But, by all means - Don't let them win. Don't let your abuser(s) win by overshadowing you.
Remember, the demons in the movie, "The Exorcist," didn't get to win. Don't let other people's aggressive actions block your future. Don't get trapped in your own history.
Veronica can show you the way out. When we doubt ourselves, we sabotage ourselves. In unity, doubt lessens. By separating from the dysfunctional patterns modeled by our sometimes unconscious
parents, we are able to choose a different, wiser application of our energies.
Veronica's acronym for the letters in the word, G.R.I.E.F. is Gaining Realizations Into Effective
Feelings. Yesterday is not best left in the past, especially if it trips you up with PTSD (Post-Traumatic
Stress Syndrome) or unhealthy addictions. Choose to do the personal growth and inner work to alleviate this with guided help.
Make sense out of the pain you experienced by creating meaning and purpose in your life. Learn
how to apply the lessons the pain has and will teach you. Author Victor Frankl's search for meaning after the Holocaust wrote, "Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human
freedoms to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way."
He added . . . "that would so effectively help to survive even the worst conditions as the knowledge
there is a meaning in one's life."
Having a strong belief system, a belief in and search for meaning beyond yourself can give you an
inner resilience that others may lack. Finding meaning in life is a central human motivational force. Frankl was an Austrian psychologist/philosopher who survived concentration camps, where
his father died of starvation and pneumonia; his mother and brother were murdered in the gas chambers; and his wife died of typhus. And yet he kept going working with patients afterward in his mission and path, living to age 92.
Veronica can relate to losses beginning with her twin who died in utero and all older family members,
many of whom she was caregiver to over several decades. As an adult after she revealed her truth about the childhood abuse she sustained, her siblings ostracized her leaving her abandoned without
support from her family of origin.
In validation of women, legal analyst Dan Abrams claimed in his book, Man Down, that "women are smarter, healthier and unequivocally better than men." From his research, he goes on to say that
women have a higher tolerance for pain, are better students and professionals, better multi-taskers,
world leaders, investors, have better memories, appreciate a good joke better, and are better citizens" to name a few of his findings. "It is time for the old paradigm to shift and for the world, men and women included, to recognize the resources we have in women as a group, who tend to be more
deliberate, compassionate and thoughtful," than their counterparts. We are not at all against men,
but we wish to be acknowledged for our contributions.
We Shield Maidens as a group can search, strive, rediscover, reclaim, restore and renew our lives with an upbeat attitude and can-do spirit. As the wounded triumphant from abuse in childhood in the
family home, we can become an indestructible force. A divine spark in each of us needs to be set free, to awaken to one's true authentic higher self. That spark is within all Shield Maidens. That
core where the light in one's soul can never be touched or harmed by unconscious people
with hidden agendas and/or pressing addictions. That indestructible part, the true essence
of who we are in God, can prevail, which is the higher vision of Veronica's and Shield Maidens' stories alike.
Author Gary Zukov said, "When the personality comes to serve the energy of the soul, that is
authentic empowerment." Veronica wholeheartedly refers to our souls as supremely worthwhile, deep containers of our personalities to be recognized and respected.

your voices heard? Who wants to stand with us Shield Maidens to create a better future? Kindly reply to email with your comments: ShieldMaiden2025@gmail.com.
