My Story

Veronica K Chilton attended UWM for a Study of Comparative Religion, received certification in Grief Counseling from Marquette University, and graduated from Divinity School as an Interdenominational Minister. Her diverse business experience runs the gamut from traveling the world selling fine art to successfully running her father’s businesses and her own, Shield Maiden Enterprises, LLC.

She is excited about her upcoming memoirs, “Shrouded in Secrets, A Memoir of Hidden Treasures from Life-Altering Events," and "The Priceless Truth, a Bold Examination of

Betrayal, Domestic Violence, Deaths and the Opioid Crisis." Her comprehensive guidebook, "The Shield Maidens Handbook,  An Invaluable Guide to Healthy Boundaries, Improved Self-Esteem, Assertiveness and Forgiveness Techniques for Survivors," is forthcoming.

After revealing some arduous personal experiences to Shaman Jojopah Maria Nsoroma at a fire ceremony designed for her, Veronica received confirmation of her current endeavor as a new author.

Ms. Nsoroma responded caringly, “Veronica, you could have committed suicide over this, killed someone else,

gone to prison, gone crazy, been committed to a mental institution, become a prostitute, taken drugs or become alcoholic, even ending up destitute on the streets.  Instead, you did it differently. That is to your credit. That is why

you must share your story!"

"When it is dark enough, you can see the stars."

It was great to meet you in person!  What a delight you are!  Thanks so much for being willing to share your story - your growth and healing as well as your pain - with us.  By doing so, you helped the nurses and social workers in the audience put a very real face to a very real problem.  What a valuable contribution you made to the conference!
